TO TAKE HIS SUCCESSFUL ADVISORY business to the next level, Jonathan Kuttin realized he needed to make a consequential decision: He stopped serving clients. “We’ve all heard the business adage about spending more time working on the business and less time working in it,” says Kuttin, a Barron’s Hall of Fame advisor based in Hauppauge, N.Y. “I took that quite literally, and about 10 years ago I stopped working directly with clients, and really focused on the vision that I was trying to create.”
